And everyone will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord and bring glory to God the Father.   Philippians 2:11

There are lots of things in life that we would like to deny or will deny even though they are true. Have you ever hear someone say while looking at a picture of themselves, “that doesn’t look anything like me!”?   Maybe you never thought that if you didn’t get on the scale and weigh yourself you really don’t weigh that much. The scale lies, right?

A true confession: I spent many years trying to style my hair a certain way to deny the fact that I was going bald. My wife called it the ultimate comb over. I would tell her I’m just keeping the mullet alive – business in the front, party in the back. OK, that’s a little weird.

The truth is, truth just is. We can deny the truth or embrace it. But for all our denial truth will never change. The real question to ask is, will you let truth change you?

This verse tells us “everyone will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.” The truth is, He is Lord. We will either acknowledge it in life resulting in eternal life or we will acknowledge it after death at the judgment resulting to eternal death. Either way we will be faced with and confess the truth – Jesus is Lord.

In anticipation of our Savior and soon coming King, take a moment to confess “Jesus you are Lord.” The fact is, He is Lord whether we deny it or confess it. But when we confess Him, God is glorified and it releases the reality of His presence into our lives. We are inviting the same presence that was felt by Mary, Joseph, shepherds, Kings and creation on that first glorious day when Jesus was born. Confess Him and be forever changed.
