The Lord says, “My thoughts are not like your thoughts. Your ways are not like my ways. Just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:8-9
In the movie Indiana Jones: The Last Crusade, Indiana on his quest to find the Holy Grail and save his father comes to a great chasm. Being a man of science he is challenged to take a step of faith. Though he sees no way across this great divide he finally steps out only to land surely on solid ground – a land bridge of solid rock obscured by the rocks in front of him.
How often do our natural senses and the thoughts of our own mind get in our way? We often are our biggest hindrance. Faith many times defies logic. Maybe life doesn’t make sense to you right now. Maybe you can’t figure it out. Take a moment to be still and listen for God’s voice. Ask Him and trust what He says. Have faith and obey His voice. You will find that He was always there, right under your feet.
